Training module (SI): Creating a new project
In this module you will learn how to create a new Project.
Tutorial
You can create a new Project from the Dashboard, by clicking on the blue + New button in the top right hand corner of the screen.
This will open the Create new project dialogue box.

All these fields are compulsory before you can create the Project (except Manage Permissions, which defaults to all users in your organisation).
Selecting the right Type and Sub-type
The Type and Sub-type of the Project cannot be changed after creation.
Please ensure you create the right type of document. E.g., if you are drafting an Order, ensure you have selected Sub-type Order - not Regulations or any other sub-type!
Further information
The video below (relevant section beginning 3:04) illustrates the process of creating a new project.
See Creating a new project for more detailed information.
For S.I. specific information on selecting the procedure applying, see Selecting the procedure applying to an SI/SSI
Once you are comfortable with the information on creating a new project, move on to the exercises below.

Getting started
Before you start the exercises, you will need to be logged in to the Lawmaker Training environment (link here), viewing the dashboard.
The dashboard is the screen you will see when you log in.
If you are already in a Project in Lawmaker, press the Home button in the top left of the screen to navigate to the dashboard.
Exercise 1 - Create a new project
Create a new project.
Choose the document Type that you are most likely to use.
For Sub-type, choose Regulations, and for procedure, choose a draft procedure (for consistency with other Training modules).
Restrict permissions to only yourself and a colleague, then change them back to everyone.
