Finalising a document
You can carry out a number of operations on a document in one go using the Finalise document feature on the Project tab. This will be done without the need to open the document in the Editor making it faster and therefore especially useful for larger documents.

How to finalise a document
On the Project Tab, click on Actions > Finalise document on the working version you want to finalise.
Select one or more of the actions you want to perform on the document.
Click Finalise and wait for the success message when the operation is completed.
The selected operations are run in the order they appear in the dialog box (Renumber, update x-refs, insert front and back covers).
In terms of the specific operations:
Renumber will renumber all provisions in the document, including provisions in quoted structures. If the document is in Welsh, the Welsh renumber logic will be applied.
Update x-refs will check all existing cross references in the document and update them accordingly - including those within quoted structures. If the document is in Welsh, the Welsh update references logic will be applied.
Insert Front Cover includes inserting the table of contents replacing any existing cover.
Insert Table of Contents only will overwrite the existing table of contents if there is one but will leave other parts of the front cover as they are.
Insert Back Cover will insert a new back cover, replacing any existing back cover.
You can’t finalise a document if there are locks within the document.
If any of the individual operations fail, an error will be displayed. However, all changes up to that point will be saved.
Welsh renditions
If you are running ‘finalise version’ on a document that contains 2 language renditions, you have the option of selecting a single rendition to perform the action on; or both renditions. The Welsh version for renumbering and updating references will be applied to Welsh renditions but also for any Welsh language quoted structures that might occur in English renditions and vice versa.
