Marking secondary legislation as 'Submitted to TNA'

You can mark a piece of secondary legislation as ‘submitted to TNA’ from within Lawmaker, and download the files that you need to upload to TNA’s publishing system.

Note that the Submit to TNA function, despite the name (and the dialogue box that pops up when it is used), does not automatically submit your document to TNA.

It marks a version of your document as ‘Submitted to TNA’. You can then download a ZIP file from that document and upload to the TNA publishing system, as described below.

At some point in the future, the publishing system will be integrated with Lawmaker.

This page is specifically about submission to TNA. For general guidance on downloading a ZIP file of a document see: Downloading a ZIP file of a document

How to submit to TNA

  1. From the Project Tab, generate a PDF of the working version that you wish to submit to TNA.

  2. Find the “PDF” snapshot (click on the toggle next to the version name if necessary to show snapshots) and select Actions > Submit to TNA.

  3. Click Submit in the dialog box that appears. A significant version will appear on the right of your screen.

  4. On the left-hand panel, find the snapshot version ‘Submitted to TNA’ and select Actions > Download ZIP file.

  5. Click Download in the dialog box that appears. A zip file will be created containing the PDF and XML file, and also any images included in your secondary legislation document.

You can now upload the downloaded file into TNA’s publishing system.

If you want to submit a document that you only have access to as a significant version (e.g., it has been shared with your organisation), it is necessary to do the following:

  • Duplicate the significant version to create a working version in the project (see: Duplicating a document version).

  • Follow the steps under How to submit to TNA above.
