Structure of a consolidation bill

Unlike other types of bill documents in Lawmaker, a working version of a consolidation bill always includes one or more attachments at the end, which contain the Table of Origins and Table of Destinations. You will see these listed in the Structure View on the left-hand side of the Editor:

The presence of the Origins and Destinations attachments within the Editor (alongside the main provisions in the bill) allows you to generate, edit, and update the Tables using data extracted from the bill, while working on the text of the bill itself.

Note that the content of these attachments are specific to each working version of a bill. Your consolidation bill project can contain multiple working versions, each with its own associated Table of Origins and Table of Destinations. Changes to the Tables in one version will have no effect on Tables in another version.

A new working version of a consolidation bill always includes a placeholder Table of Origins attachment, containing an empty Table of Abbreviations.

To insert the full Table of Origins, you can select ‘Insert Table of Origins’ from the Insert menu. To insert the Table of Destinations, you can select ‘Insert Table of Destinations’. The other pages in this section of the user manual explain how to populate those tables with information about the enactments consolidated by the bill.

When generating a PDF of a bill containing Origins and Destinations attachments, separate PDF outputs are produced: one for the bill, one for the Table of Origins, and one for the Table of Destinations.

When sharing a working version of a consolidation bill with users in another organisation, the whole bill and its attachments are shared as a single document.
