Publishing individual amendments

Introduction

'Publishing’ in this context will make the amendment list available on the PDR (Published Document Repository) which will be available to down-stream applications who have access to our published data (e.g. Parliament websites).  This option is only available to users in Parliament.

How to publish an amendment

  1. From the 'Amendment Manager' tab: select one or more amendments that you want to publish

  2. Select "Publish Amendments" from the 'Amendment Actions' drop down

  3. Confirm the warning message to publish your selected amendments

Hints and tips

  • You can publish an amendment at any stage using this method

  • Amendments are automatically published when you publish a list that they appear on

  • Publishing amendments will make them visible to all users in the system.

  • There are fewer checks when publishing from the Amendment Manager which is why Lawmaker doesn’t have a publishing confirmation dialog box like it does for publishing amendment lists:

    • As the amendment’s lifecycle events are not updated when publishing from the Amendment Manager, there is no need to check for locks on the selected amendments;

    • Lawmaker does not check for flagged amendments as you would have seen them when selecting the amendments on the Amendment Manager; and

    • Lawmaker does not restrict what state an amendment must be before you can publish it so the state check is irrelevant.
